Sample Flatmate Agreement

(this is a sample form which may be used as a guide to the type of information which should be included)


This is a flatmate agreement between

  • I agree to give other flatmates notice of intention to leave of ................ days.
  • I agree to continue to pay rent until a new tenant is found.

This tenancy is a periodic tenancy.

Special Conditions (example only)

A flat account will be established for food and other household necessities (cleaners toilet paper etc)

Each person will be responsible for cleaning the bathroom and laundry facilities after using them,

Each person is responsible for repair of any damage to the property by them or any of their invited visitors.


Should a problem arise all parties agree to organise a flat meeting to discuss the issues and try and resolve them.

Note:

Remember usually only one person’s name is on an electricity or phone account etc. That person usually becomes responsible for that account.
