Service Update from Christchurch City Mission during lockdown

Christchurch City Mission presently has the following services operating:

Men’s emergency accommodation – Locked down
Women’s emergency accommodation – Locked down
Family emergency accommodation – Locked down
Alcohol & other Drug Residential Detox facility – Medical referral
Day support programme – for emergency accommodation people given they are locked down on-site
Outreach Social Work – to remaining homeless who are disengaged from all services, referring to MSD for emergency accommodation
Social Work in community – via phone
Counselling – via phone
FoodBank – delivery into community/doorstep of residence

The only service that is open to the community due to the requirement of practicing isolation protocols is our FoodBank.
This service is incredibly under pressure and as such capacity to attend to any additional increase in demand is challenging.
